The Windrose Villa, Grasse, France

The Windrose Villa was built in 1950 by a Master Perfumer in Grasse.  Legend has it that he built it for his mistress, and because of its unique position overlooking the entire Riviera, making it also visible to everyone in the valley, they established a code:  when she left the shutters open, he could come for a visit…

My husband and I bought this property in the year 2000, and immediately fell in love with the spectacular view, the parasol pines with their lovely aroma, along with all the fragrant plants of Provence:  jasmine, lavender, thyme, rosemary… and of course roses, which bloom here from March until December.

Since then we have completely transformed the Windrose Villa, adding the conservatory to the East, the pool and its panoramic terraces to the West, enlarged the parking area to accommodate up to three vehicles and added an automatic gate for security.

Our guests love the easy access, the ideal location just minutes from downtown Grasse and its perfumeries, 20 minutes from Cannes, the beaches and festivals, and 40 from the Nice airport.   You will also enjoy the total exclusivity the property offers – 4000 m2 of land, with no neighbours in sight!  As a jazz musician, I have held many a midsummer night’s concert, with saxophone, drums, double bass, trumpets and more – such a privilege to know that no one is disturbed!

The Windrose Villa has three bedrooms and three bath- or shower-rooms.

​

Upstairs:

-The Master Bedroom, with a Queen-size bed, walks out to its own panoramic balcony;

-The East Bedroom, also with Queen-size bed,  has an ensuite shower room;

-The West Bedroom has two Single beds, and has an ensuite shower room.

​

Downstairs:

Tastefully decorated living room with leather couches and armchairs, an antique coffee table on a plush rug, a large flatscreen TV, fireplace, bookcase with ample holiday reading, desk and upright piano.   It opens onto the dining suite for six, adjacent to the kitchen, which walks out to the lower panoramic terrace and deck.

The lower bathroom has a full bathtub and leads to the laundry room which has washing machine and dryer. 

Outdoors, you will enjoy outdoor dining suite as well as a comfortable outdoor set of couches and coffee table.

​

By the pool, a second dining suite awaits you for evening meals before the pink sky of summer sunsets.  Other outdoor armchairs and sun loungers are also there for your enjoyment.

 

The Windrose Villa is available for season holiday rentals, by the fortnight or week.  Exceptionally, shorter stays can be arranged.
